COVID 19 Policy
COVID 19 Policy
The safety and well-being of our team and our visitors will always be our number one priority.
The Hub has always been regarded as a very clean and safe venue and we have always operated to a very high standard.
However, in response to Covid-19, we have now increased our safety and hygiene measures to levels far and above the Government recommended guidelines.
Our new safety measures include:
Massively reduced visitor capacity
We have reduced our visitor numbers right down to just one third of our visitor capacity, to ensure safe social distancing
Online pre-booked visits
For us to operate with a reduced capacity in a safe and secure way, and to avoid any disappointment, all visitors will need to book online timed slots
Temperature checks for staff and visitors
We are checking our visitors temperature on arrival with a non-contact infra-red thermometer. If you are displaying signs of a high fever (37.8 degrees Celcius or greater), we can refund your admission fee or rearrange you visit for a future date.
Dozens of tables removed
The Hub is huge, so we have taken out lots of chairs and tables to ensure that family groups are well separated. All tables are positioned over 2m away from any other table.
Perspex screens at reception and cafe
Protecting both you and us
Hand sanitiser units and extra hand washing stations
Eight new hand washing stations have been installed throughout the centre, as well as hand sanitiser units at the entrance to every enclosed area. We're also offering sanitiser to everyone before using the go-karts, carousel, climbing tree or laser tag
Team members will be cleaning door handles and other touch points throughout the day. We have increased our cleaning team to keep us squeaky clean all day. Obviously, if there are any areas you would like us to particularly focus on, please speak to any member of the team.
We have installed 21 Hygenikx air purification units, which eliminate bacteria and viruses from the air and on exposed surfaces. The units filter the air using UV technology, without the need for chemicals
Three huge ceiling extraction units replace the air in the entire centre several times an hour
New cafe procedures
We now have single use, disposable menus. Wrapped cutlery and sauce sachets will be handed to you once food is ordered and we encourage contactless payments whenever possible. Food Delivery/Collection Tables have been set out, to eliminate close contact between our servers and visitors. During Mondays to Wednesdays in August we are taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, where you can enjoy our food and drink for just half the usual price!
At night the building is sanitised with antibacterial fogging equipment especially designed for hospitals and kitchens. The fogging machine creates an antibacterial fog that coats surfaces with a sterile coating that lasts for several days
Loose items removed
We have taken out all the balls from our ball pools and removed any loose play items. Our Toddler Village now has a new way of operating. You can find out more about our Toddler Village here
The Government ruling regarding face coverings for indoor play centres is: "Adult customers and children aged 11 and over will be required to wear a face covering before entering and keep it on until they leave, except when eating or drinking at your table, or when entering/whilst in the play frame".
The rule of 6
The new Government ruling that people cannot socialise in groups of more than 6 does apply to your visit to Riverside Hub. Click here for more details
Our play partnership with you
To make sure our safety measures work effectively, we ask all visitors to work with us to help us all keep covid-safe. The most important new ruling is that any children that cannot practise social distancing on their own must be accompanied by an adult at all times. This is very important to comply with new Government guidelines.
